Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) announced the list of projects funded by the 2022 International Cooperative Training Program for Innovative Talents, and the Sino-French Medical and Industrial Cross-disciplinary Innovative Talents Training Projectandthe Joint Training Project for Innovative Talents of Geographic Information Internationalizationof Wuhan University (WHU) were approved.
According to the arrangement of the CSC, the two projects can dispatch 39 persons in total every year to the cooperative universities and research institutes to be jointly cultivated, study for the doctorate or conduct visits and exchange. The implementation period of the two projects is three years (2022-2024), and a total of 117 people can be sent with full funding.
The Sino-French Medical and Industrial Cross-disciplinary Innovative Talents Training Program, led by Professor Yu Baoping, vice principle of Wuhan University School of Medicine, cooperates with Université de Lorraine, France, to integrate discipline resources, closely follow the development of China's medical and health services and the strategic needs of building a healthy China, and focus on the cutting-edge scientific hotspots of basic medicine, clinical medicine and engineering to cultivate top innovative medical talents who have innovative scientific research thinking ability and international vision and are determined to undertake the task of national rejuvenation and building a healthy China.
The Joint Training Program for Innovative Talents of Geographic Information Internationalizationis led by Professor Yue Peng, vice dean of the School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering. From traditional bilateral country cooperation to multilateral international cooperation, with the help of the United Nations and other organizations to strengthen international communication capabilities, a group of comprehensive high-tech talents in the field of remote sensing who are proficient in RS applications in international affairs will be cultivated to provide reserve forces for strategic needs such as global ecological civilization construction, international organizations serving and telling the story of China well.
The International Cooperative Training Program for Innovative Talentsis an organic funded program promoted by the CSC to serve the national strategy and cultivate more innovative, badly-needed and inter-disciplinary international top talents. In recent years, WHU has organized project applications, focused on improving the ability of the international exchange service center, and carried out substantive cooperation with overseas high-level universities, with a total of 8 projects approved.
