TECHNOLOGY & DATA SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM
The 8-10 week Technology & Data Summer Intern Program is designed to develop highly motivated junior technologists who partner with the business units to solve complex problems through the appropriate use of technology. Technology & Data Summer Interns are recruited and placed on a specific development team for the duration of the internship. You will be using innovative technology. More than 50,000 employees and many customers need easy access to our back-end platforms.
Our software is developed on Windows, UNIX and Linux, using Java, C++, C# and Perl. Our developers leverage third-party infrastructure as well as infrastructure developed in-house - relational databases, global XML/SOAP messaging infrastructure, high-availability clusters, and massively scalable distributed systems. Former Summer Interns have worked on projects involving our enterprise portal, wireless access, or components of our many trading and risk-reporting systems using various technologies, such as .NET, JSP, Java Servlets and SOAP.
High-performing Summer Interns may receive an invitation to extend their internships into part-time internships throughout the fall semester. Those same interns may also receive an invitation to interview for a full-time position as a Morgan Stanley technologist in the Technology Training
Program. The Summer Program provides a solid foundation on which to build a career in technology at Morgan Stanley.
REQUIREMENTS
• Candidates must graduate from January to July in 2012 or later.
• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related science or engineering discipline that is particularly relevant.
Candidates do not need financial knowledge to apply.
• Candidates should be comfortable with a programming language (C, C++, C#, Perl, or Java) to be considered for our application development internships.
• Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving and analytic skills, outstanding academic performance, strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Consideration for our programs requires written and spoken English proficiency.
SELECTION PROCESS
All candidates will need to apply online via below link before the deadline. Candidates will be chosen for a first round phone interview on the basis of their technical skills and work experience demonstrated on their resumes. Those selected after the phone interview will be invited to attend an on-site Assessment Center, which is our final round of evaluation.
